Know what you're good at!
Im all about inspirational videos! especially in the morning. It gets me up and out of bed and feeling like I can actually accomplish something. It puts my mind in the right mindset. I dont wake up feeling sluggish or mad that I'm up early. It gets me pumped to work on my amazing businesses and accomplishes goals I have set for the day. There is one man who does this more than others and thats Gary Vaynerchuck. He's a little crude in his teachings but sometimes thats what we all need. A little kick in the pants!
What he talks about is knowing our strengths as artists and people, and working on making that better. Not mindlessly trying to do everything. Which for us as creatives is hard. Its hard to relinquish power. Its hard to say Im bad at this task. As artists we have fought our whole lives and pretty much done everything our selves. Were so used to depending on just us to get through situations that when we get into 'business land' we still have that mindset.
However not all of us are sales people. Not all of us are good at accounting. Not all of us are good at marketing, or networking, or booking gigs! So as a business owner and artist I'm telling you its ok to outsource some of this work! Your business will probably thank you and so will your sanity.
